WEEE Regulations

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

In the UK we throw out over 1m tonnes of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) a year and it ends up as landfill. Most electronic waste is toxic, harmful to the environment and to human health so it is important that these products are recycled or otherwise disposed of safely.

Disposal

All new electrical products will carry a symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin. This is to remind consumers that the product should be disposed of carefully and not thrown out with your general household waste or in your household recycling bin. Look out for this symbol.

Recycle

You Can Recycle by taking the WEEE product to your local designated collection facility. This would normally be your local civic amenity site (recycling centre). To locate your local site, contact your local authority at www.recycle-more.co.uk OR If you are purchasing a replacement electrical or electronic item at Serious Fishing we will take back your old equipment free of charge.
